Right then...

Went into town today and bought some (discounted) running shoes, socks, and sports bras, and I've downloaded a Map My Run app. Gonna head out tonight after Doctor Who.

No excuses now *bites nails*

Let's hope it's not a particularly scary one then!

Have you also downloaded the podcasts or couch to 5k App?

Good luck. Remember the mantra slow is the way to go

I'm just sorting the podcasts now. There's no chance of me speeding off anywhere!

Just remember " You don't have to be great to start, but you do have to start to be great"

Honestly, I think my sports bra changed my life! I want to wear it all the time! Good luck on your run. Listen to all the advice about keeping it slow and steady - it works!

There must be something in the air today. I convinced my husband to come with me and we BOTH got some trainers and running clothes. Running shoe shopping is a minefield! I must have tried on a dozen pairs!

Good luck - I hope tonight's run went well for you 🏃

I don't have the patience for shoe/clothes shopping. I hunt for everything online and then just hand printouts of the items to the shop assistants :) It did go well, thanks (see below!).

All done :)

Pros:

* Knees didn't hurt after a little while, which was mainly what I was worried about.

* Recovered from a stitch

* Managed to run most of the 60 seconds, and it was still half an hour of decent exercise.

* My feet felt nice and comfy in the shoes and the sports bra was definitely a good idea :)

Cons:

* Didn't manage to complete the whole thing but that's largely because I misjudged how short my route was (who'd have thought running bits was faster than walking >_<)

* I was feeling really self-conscious about being out in public doing the same route twice. I came home and did some marching on the spot for the last few minutes of it because at that point I was getting anxious and it felt like an eternity. I'll give it a go in the gym next time.

Well done on taking those first steps!

If you did 3.3 km in week 1 ie with only 8 mins of running, you are running significantly faster than I was then. So, if you are struggling to finish a segment, slow down, you are not the slowest tortoise in town 🐢🐢🐢🐢.

Well done and keep posting!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🏃🏼‍♀️👍🏼
