Music with the right beat

I am halfway through week 8. Once I graduate, I would like to download some good running music. What I am after is something to match my feet. The right tempo, the right beat or sort of. Not sleepy music. Any suggestion?

It's a nice mix and normally I find myself singing out loud to Olly Murs at the end of a run to keep me going for the last few mins! Songs for all tastes on there! Enjoy!

I was running to some full on fast music and now I'm injured. I'd love to be pootling along to something sedate at this moment. Take care! You need to build up to speed rather than going for fast running too quickly

Audiofuel (who provide the music for C25k and C25k+ make music according to BPM. You can download this to your device from their site or they sell on itunes

Some of it is voiced over to help you. It will say if it has tuition

I don't want to go to fast, not. I was thinking of something which will take my mind away and before I know it, I have done the distance. something like paddling on the dragon boats and the drum gives you rhythm. I will check Audiofuel. Thanks.

Slayer

Heavy metal isn't it? Perhaps too scary for me as little old lady.

On the other hand, I will never know unless I listen to it hey?

Slayer may not actually be your best gateway to the world of metal, on second thoughts, although the bpms are quite good for cadence.

Bit difficult to suggest music that matches your tempo (cadence) without knowing what your cadence is ;-)

You are right there.

I am a bit of a snail but feel if I could hit the ground in time with the beat it would make running easier for me.

I will follow the suggestions

Thanks

Hi, I don't know whether you have Spotify on your phone or MP3 player ? Its free . They have just added a running category, where you can match the tempo of the music to your running .

It just appeared on my Spotify overnight, I have just got the basic free account and haven't tried it out yet , so don't know how effective it is .

Might be worth a go ? :-) xxx

Have you tried the DJrun phone app? It scan's the music on your phone and also monitors your running beat (CADENCE!) and plays music with the same beat.

For Android

play.google.com/store/apps/...

And this is similar on iTunes:

itunes.apple.com/us/app/pac...

Yes!

I found a song that I ran well to, then went to an online metronome website (like a.bestmetronome.com/ or tempotap.com/) to calculate the tempo of it (I tapped along to the music). Then I looked for other songs with the same tempo (there are lists at bpmdatabase.com/ and songbpm.com/).

I now have a playlist that goes from slow to fast (manually sorted).

I find that a good SLOW warmup pace is around 156bpm (beats per minute). Start from there :)

Hi! If you look at Jogging.com you can search tracks by BPM, which is useful. I went on to buy many individual tracks from Amazon. The ones which put a spring in my step are: MIA paper planes. Billy Joel - The longest time. A-Ha - Take on me. The Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling. Don't judge me. Not my usual taste. But the cheesy ones work best! I downloaded "101 running songs" too. It's good fun shopping for running tunes. Well done for getting to the end!

Thank you Katie and thanks for your suggestions. I will check them out. I had previously looked at web sites regarding different running songs but could not find something to suit me.

I downloaded running trax cd but actually got frustrated as was too fast for me so kept on pulling headphones out when gremlins telling me to stop. Now downloaded some of my favourite slower ones and for me this works things I have got include Another Love Tom Odell and John Legend.

Try Motion Trax in itunes - awesome 1 hour tracks at whatever rpm you want. I have downloaded a selection of 150, 155 and 160 rpm/min tracks. Good for biking, walking too. Enjoy!
