Pace

I've just finished W2 D1 and I'm really enjoying it so far - when I've pushed myself out of the door!!

I have realised my pace isn't consistent throughout the run though, is there a way I can monitor this in the app or does anyone use another app etc to keep an eye on this?

I have a Forerunner 10 and download the runs on to a Pc and when I look at my pace it looks like the Himalayas despite trying to run at a constant pace and speed but don't worry about it to much at the moment as you can't really judge until around week 7 when the long runs start

Well done! But don't worry about pace while doing c25k, just do the timed run/walks slow and steady!😊

I wouldn't worry about your pace at this stage. There are plenty of toys on the market to monitor your this, but I suggest you learn to listen to your body first. You can worry about pace when you have built your stamina and endurance.

The best pace is one that feels 'comfortable' to you and it's ok to vary this throughout your run. However, if you do want to take a look at pace and distance then there are quite a few run apps that can be downloaded. I still have Runkeeper (free version) despite having a Garmin now and on reflection, it does all I need. Distance, splits, maps your run etc. Might be worth having a look at? Good luck.🙂

Please just do the sessions and enjoy them. As you get fitter everything sorts itself out. Don't worry

When you graduate that's a good time to treat yourself

Have fun!

As others have said pace comes after graduation going through the program is all about getting your joints and muscles used to your new sport. There are many apps you can use along side the program to have an idea of pace, Runtastic, mapmyrun, starva and many more. I personally used Runtastic before I got my garmin watch as it is free and logs your route, pace and distance but then I am a real stat girl, half the fun of a run to me is coming home and looking through all the stats 😀.

I used Map My Walk and then Runkeeper and the big thing they showed me was that I was going too fast early in the run and then running out of steam. I find it helps a lot to know how quickly I ran the first km and then adjust my pace accordingly. And I simply like having the records of my runs.

Thank you for your advice everyone, I'll just enjoy completing the runs for now and think about this later on! ☺️
