The dog made me do it

First proper run last night after knee injury at end of March. I only did about 3k, it was off road and the weather was beautiful so all good. So I'm shambling along, slow and steady, knee is ok though there's a slight feeling of pressure around the patella and I'm keeping my eyes glued to the ground so I don't go over on the uneven track. I always try to keep running as I feel like a failure if I stop or walk but last night, as I was on the home run, I met a lady with the sweetest dog who was, actually, in my way so I stopped and chatted to her, petted the dog, probably for about 5 mins (it turns out she's a runner with an injury at the moment!) and do you know what? That little break actually did me some good! I carried on and knee felt absolutely perfect for the rest of my run. So maybe, sometimes, it IS a good idea to pause, or walk, during a run .... Also, it's nice to pet a cute dog! 😜

Good for you! 😃 Sounds like a lovely run. Just what the doctor ordered.

Good luck with the knee. Slow and steady! 🙂

I think there is a lot of discipline in taking a break and then running again. Well done Nobby!
