W2r3 and my shins felt like they were full of lead golf balls! Managed to fight of the demons and finish but I really didn't enjoy today. π’

But you did it, and then you came on here and talked about it. We've all been there and we make it across that finish line and so will you. Plenty stretching, and a gentle walk on rest days. Your body is super annoyed with you for all this 'activity' so it's having a little moan.
You can do it!

I was exactly the same as you. Getting good fitted running shoes made all the difference to me and looking where you're going and not at your feet. You can do this ππ»π

Sounds like shin splints. Some people get by with any old shoes for a while, but good shoes, fitted after a gait analysis solves the problem for most.
Well done for sticking with it.
I agree with IannodaTruffe , make sure you have proper well fitting (with correct arch support) running shoes. I had shin problems to start with and took similar advice from Hidden early on. No more major shin issues.
Plenty of other niggles though, but as Carolinemcd says your legs (and other body parts) are not used to this new routine. It will take time, but the programme accounts for this. Remember to take things slowly.
Keep up the good work, and please keep posting
To be fair, my trainers were fitted a few years ago, mileage wise they are fine but I expect I have changed a bit.
Better to be safe than sorry. Maybe you have changed a bit in the meantime, but from my recent experience, running shoes are improving every year. I assume that your 'trainers' are proper running shoes?
Yes they are, fitted at a shop in Portsmouth. They are next on my list of things to replace though! π

Yep, another shin splint sufferer, I didn't know about running shoes when I started and thought trainers would do. Don't ignore it, it can get very painful! Shopping for you!
