I get knocked down, but I get up again!

So the last time I posted on here was to ask some advice about having had a week or so off and whether I should continue on from where I left off, and thanks to you lovely people and your fab advice, I went out and continued on with week 4 and smashed it (obviously with plenty wheezing and arguing with myself).

But! Just when I thought I was getting back on track, I was hit with a beast of a cold! One of those horrible ones that makes you want to curl up and cry, and after looking at the advice on here again, I thought it was probably best just to wait it out. I hated myself for it though - I felt like any progress that I had been making was slipping away!

Eventually though, I recovered and decided to repeat week 4 (partly because the thought of trying week five after having such a long break gave me the fear). I'll not lie to you, the thought of repeating was tough, but I'm glad I did, because after the first run, it felt like such a struggle and such a knock to my confidence, but afterward I started getting into a rhythm again, and yesterday I completed W5R2, and when I finished, I actually punched the air! (Think the end of breakfast club sort of idea but without the epic music) now I'm actually looking ahead to W5R3 thinking I might actually be able to do this!

Sorry for the long rabble, I just wanted to share my excitement at getting back on track! 😊

Repeating a week is certainly an okay (and even recommended) thing to do, especially after and illness. And since Week 5 is a departure from the previous weeks, it's good to build up to that particular challenge. Goodonya!

Well done you and very glad that you are better!

It is always a bit daunting setting out again, after being on the IC...but as long as you take it steady and slow, you will be fine. You did that and gently got back into your running style!

We don't lose fitness as quickly as we think, but if the illness and the way you feel, makes you want to repeat a run or a few runs, that is fine; it is you running journey:)

Never hate yourself.. you, are your biggest priority! We all feel badly, when we are not able to run, and listening to your body takes great determination.. so well done you!

You will do this... you have the determination, discipline and positive approach!

Air punching is allowed...most definitely! :)

Well done for getting going again. I'm. A fan of week 4, I completed the programme last year, had a mixed winter and decided to restart in Feb. Starting at week 4 got me back into the rhythm. 🌻🌻
