Slow and Steady always wins the race πŸ¦‹

Apologies if you've seen my rambling blog on marathon support already.... I just wanted to share on here that I have been running now for 4 years and whilst I didn't think I would ever run for 30 minutes without stopping, I have just completed a challenge that I set myself last year- I did an extreme marathon in Exmoor. I was nearly last, I nearly quit a few times when it was really tough, and it took me nearly 8 hours- but I DID IT....

I cannot tell you how good it feels and I'm planning my next challenge now. I wanted to urge you to keep going if you are struggling or worried about being 'slow' , just focus on that finishing line whatever it may be and you will feel so great when you get there. My new mantra for this event was,

'Slow and steady always wins the race,'

And it really does!!!

Happy panthering everyone

Juicyju

Xxx

Well done, I knew you could do it. You are so right about the slow and steady. It doesn't matter what stage you are at it helps so much when you are having a little struggle. That mantra has helped me as I have been getting out again. If I'm struggling I just slow down and can do a little more.

Thankyou, and it really is a great mantra because the key is to just keep on going.... 😎

When you think back to run 1 week 1, it's not that long ago ☺ We underestimate our bodies, and what we are capable of. We can dig deep to drag out our inner resources ☺ You certainly did that Ju!

You literally had a mountain to climb but you chewed it up and spat it out. I thought you would 😊

Thankyou, and I am often shocked at what our bodies are actually capable of if we train.... I've been so inspired by the 85 year old ironman nun who is just amazing 😎

Her experience, which she was happy to share with you, was fantastic. It was your lucky day. I had a veteran lady runner on a tough uphill race bark at me to walk! Ha ha! She was quite right. I was going nowhere fast. Freewheelin .....

I shall check out that Ironwoman Nun! Mind you nuns only have inner resources to call on I suppose, that and the good Lord o'course !

You broke my cardinal rule: If there are goats there it's too step to run.

Well done, that is an amazing achievement.
