Stupid Strava!

The first time I ran Strava worked fine, but my last 2 runs, it has the correct time, but only shows a tiny portion of my run, no where near the whole route, and says I ran less than a km! It's so annoying, don't understand why it's going wrong. I don't touch my phone or anything... Any ideas?

(I do the same route every time)

Looks like an issue with your phone's GPS hardware rather than Strava. Are you running in an area where GPS signals might be blocked (e.g. where there are tall buildings or lots of tree cover)?

I'm running in a big wide open space, into the next town. Maybe it's cos it's through a field :/ it worked the first time though. It doesn't even pick up in the town, just by my house.

Sounds like some data connection problem. Is it working whilst you are on WiFi? Has your phone had mobile data turned off?

Had somehow never heard of Strava till now. Going to give it a go, I usually use inbuilt/default app on my phone. Open space is ideal for GPS. Should work if your are outside just will be less accurate around tall buildings or under bridges etc. It's hard to tell where the problem might be. Do you know where it is missing information, if its the beginning of the run you might need to leave it time for the GPS to lock in before starting the run. What does the route look like compared to what you ran?

It's picking up the beginning and end, missing a great chunk in the middle :/

If mine loses signal it does that. I've had some funny runs when it just draws a straight line between two points. The joys of living rurally....
