Great North West Half Marathon

Hi everyone,

I'm sat in front of my laptop with a huge smile across my face.

I completed the half marathon this afternoon in Blackpool.

My Bib No 414

My finishing time 2:57:24.2

I was aiming for 3 hours so that was a bonus.

I'm struggling to add a Photo at the moment.

If anybody can give me a tip on how to do it from my MacBook air, it would be appreciated.

As we have not eaten since 9am I'm taking my better half into Blackpool for a celebratory meal.

I will write a full description of the run this evening or if the celebrations carry on tomorrow. Hic!

I'm chuffed to bits, I set a target of this half marathon over Christmas as I wanted to complete one before my 60th birthday in May.

I hope you have all had a good weekend and great runs.

All the best.

  • Fantastic and all the more impressive that you only finished c25k in October (if I remember rightly). I was consoling myself that you must be much younger than me. Turns out you're 3 years older! Enjoy the celebrations it's a great accomplishment.

  • Hi atomicpiper,

Thanks for your reply and the congratulations.

    We certainly celebrated last night.

It's amazing how carrying a couple of pints, stops your legs aching.

As soon as you place the drinks onto a table the ache reappears.

    All the best.
