Dylon knows best!

I love running in my bargain Marino wool top that I picked up in Aldi in November. I just didnt love the grey colour. (It's been fine to hide it under my jacket, but meant I would never take the jacket off - nor matter how hot I got!)

I finally thought "just dye it!" So picked up a lovely Ocean Blue sachet - problem solved...... except it turned out not to be blue at all! I could see the mixture looked very purple, but I was 1/2 asleep so just went ahead & plunged the top into the solution.

Yes it's def purple!!

But, it's a nice purple & my Flipbelt is purple & I've got purple trimmings on my running leggings, my shoes are black, teal & purple.

So although I didn't choose it, I've now got corordinated gear!

  • That's a fab result and I love the colour. Another dyer here. I've dyed all sorts in my time. It's great fun isn't it?

  • It is! I dye loads of stuff too.

  • I love it! I love purple too.. it would really go well with some of my leggings...:)

Talk about sassy! Go you !

  • That's the thing, I don't love purple - I love blue, but blue wouldn't have made coordinated!!!!

  • I love Blue too! Well, you could send me the purple on and find another to dye blue! :)

  • Love it! And you do sound very coordinated now๐Ÿ™‚!

  • Most unusual for me, I can tell you. My motto is "comfort first"!

  • You gotta love a bit of purple...๐Ÿ˜Š

  • Lol - didn't possess purple before I started running!

  • Oooh nice. I like the pink trimmings.

  • Ha ha, I had no choice on those! They're polyester & stayed the same colour:) but at least they work with the purple!

  • As a graduate, you're probably on a "purple streak" too ... don't misunderstand me, I mean wearing your outfit! ... or do I as the temperatures have been pretty cold for the UK? Love the colour.

  • Don't know about the purple streak, but I certainly come home with a red face!

  • Ooh lovely! I have that top! Lovely int it ๐Ÿ™‚ Looks even better now ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Aren't they just the best things to run it! I love Marino wool.

  • What a good idea, I looked at that top, and I didn't like the grey either. It's lovely now!

  • Now I wish I'd bought two at the time! Don't know why it took me so long to think of dying it!

  • Now I wish I'd bought one! MW said they were good, I shoulda listened!

  • Next year!!!

  • My husband bought me a thick purple hooded fleece for post race comfort. Can't wait to test it out ๐Ÿ™‚ Purple is my race colour. No, not my face! My running pants etc ๐Ÿ˜

  • That looks fabulous. Purple rocks! It's not so much a colour for me, as a way of life ;-)

  • I like purple. It suits me. You just gave me an idea. I also had bought a Merino Wool top from Aldi for my husband to use when riding his motorcycle if we go in the cold weather but he didn't want it as he wouldn't use it, so it is mine. Grey is not my colour so a dye is on my shopping list. Thanks for the tip.

  • Well there you go, get the Ocean Blue & you too can have a purple top! ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Marino dyes beautifully!)
