Wasn't sure I'd finish, but I did!

Yesterday I did my last run of the programme. It seemed a big 'ask' at the beginning, but apart from a bit of a break round Christmas, it all went as the wonderful Laura said it could. So, to anyone who is in the early stages, it can be done. Just stick at it, and (to repeat the mantra) take it slowly and steadily!

My only complaint was the dreadful song 'You and Julie'. I thought that I'd heard the last of it at the end of Week 8, but no - it starts Week 9! There should be a health warning!

Otherwise - a brilliant programme, and thanks to all involved in putting it on. I'm not sure what the next stage will be. I'm aiming at a bit of consolidation first, but then I'd quite like to get to the point where I could enter a 10k race. (Probably finishing last, but it wouldn't matter. Someone has to!)

All best wishes to everyone else on the Forum for their 'running journey'.

You've done really well. Congratulations on your graduation, and welcome to a wonderful future of regular, pain-free running. Hope you have a blast! :)

"You and Julie" is a rite of passage... cunningly designed so that if you feel like giving up during one of those later runs, you keep doing because you do not want to hear it any more times than you absolutely have to.

Also teaches you to run without everything needing to be perfect!

I'm actually using a different C25K app because I wanted to listen to my own music, but everyone on here is so affectionate of Laura and the various terrible songs that I'm almost tempted to do a couple of the NHS runs to see what it's like...

Congratulations on graduating and really good to hear about your future goals - 10k is a fab distance and you will be there in no time! I agree that a bit of consolidating the 5k is a good idea, to build up those running legs. You are not the first to complain about some of the music on the podcasts. I was lucky as you used to be able to download Lovely Laura in app form and play your own music behind it. Seems this was replaced by Jo Wiley, Micheal Johnson and co(?). Happy running🙂🏃🏽‍♀️
