Hey there, get a load if these! I have been looking for a hybrid shoe for a while as my runs are both road and trail, and wanted to keep going on the trails as long as I can......before it gets too swamp like.....πŸ˜„.....just browsing today.......like you do.....

Went to my fave shop....(got a voucher for Christmas - lucky me).....and these just happened to fall off the shelf......on to my feet.....and well, it'd be rude not to give them a home.......

Can't wait to get some mud on them.....first outing parkrun tomorrow in my 'special' outfit....πŸ˜‰

Happy running all

How are they on width Madge50 ? Looking for some that will do a bit of both but my feet are wider than Wide McWide😯

Hi McFitty, i'm an Asics fan, my 'normal' runners are Asics gel kayano's, and I'm 1.5 sizes bigger than shoe size in them. I like the toe room. These are asic gel fujitrabuco and are 2 sizes bigger 😲, but feel no different, putting both shoes side by side these are no longer but do look narrower - didn't feel it though...... There were several others to choose from, Brooks, Hoka, and I think Mizuno, I tried the Brooks as well, they seemed very roomy. Apparently these 'hybrid' shoes are designed by triathletes.....who would run on wet/dry, hard/soft, so here's hoping....πŸ˜„

This local shop is fab, I'm very lucky, they are brill, really knowledgable, no phoney sales talk - they're all runners or triathletes.

Hope you find some good ones

They are things of great beauty! Are they Asics Fujitrabuco? I have just replaced my Fujitrabuco with a different Asics trail shoe and am now wishing I hadn't! Just not quite as comfy as the Fujitrabuco for me. Happy running in yours!πŸ™‚

Thanks Sandra, yes they are, I'd seen them before, but have been hesitating about buying some as my routes are mixed. Lots of discussions about trail shoes comment you give up cushioning for the harder sole......so I've been reluctant up to now.....I'm also going into higher cushioned socks - especially for longer runs......got more experimenting to do there before the HM.......πŸ€”

The shop I go to, insist you have a trot outside before you buy, these just seemed to 'stick' to the road a bit better, got my fingers crossed for the mud!

Oh, they are a great hybrid shoe so will see you from trail to pavement no problem. I also wear Kayanos so we obviously have similar gaits!!

Oh wow.. now I am a tad jealous... what make are they? I think they might suit my runs too, lanes and tracks !

Cannot wait to see your outfit too!!! Good luck with your run, and yes, it would have been rude to spurn those little beauties :)x

Thanks Floss, they are Asics Fujitrabuco, apparently a hybrid shoe - most of the time my 'normal' shoes will do just fine, but as it gets a bit trickier off road this time of year have been looking for something that would do both.

Most of my routes involve both, and at some point I've had to give up off road due to the mud etc., so I'm hoping these might keep me on the bridleway routes at least for longer, and maybe for the whole winter - which is my preferred option......πŸ˜„

Oh yes, I've had a 'dress rehearsal' all is ready.....just hope I haven't got to run too much....πŸ˜‚......report to follow......

Just seen what make they are..below :) Were they mega, mega expensive.. I am spending far too much on new small one!!!

Madge50 profile image
Madge50Graduate in reply to Oldfloss

Depends what you mean by 'expensive' , in the fancy running shops with the gait analysis, excellent advice etc., RRP Β£110, time they last, amount of use and all that, - these should last ages as they will have seasonal use......at least a couple of years I reckon - depends how much abuse they get πŸ˜„

but if you know they will work for you, you can get them cheaper on t'internet......previous seasons models etc., and if you've a slightly uncommon size, you might be lucky.....πŸ˜‰

I have managed that once with my preferred 'normal' shoe so far.......I think they now rock in at an RRP of about £140 😱......but, that's one pair in a year.......

Down to individual choice....

I have small feet, my mum used to say I have feet like a camel, they're little and they spread out......πŸ˜‚

(Not in running shoes though! - see above!)

Ooooh, like these! Sadly I haven't got an excuse for new shoes at the moment - I run off-road and have just shelled out for a new pair that stop me falling over in the mud - but it is nice to window shop. Love the pink soles!

Madge50 profile image
Madge50Graduate in reply to Curlygurly2

Haven't you just bought some? Ooh I couldn't possibly say, but, of course to make them last longer.....two pairs are better than one?....πŸ˜‰........or so I've been told.....need to test this theory .....πŸ˜„......
