Following advice from the forum, I have invested in my first pair of trail shoes. My local Parkrun is on National Forest land so muddy, slippy etc this time of year, and I am not very sure-footed at best of times.

I looked on line and visited a couple of chains to try on, but nothing fitted. As I have a broad foot I ended up going to my usual local independent running shop, and was not disappointed! Not in the sale but I got 20% discount. I'm a happy bunny and am planning to run by the river shortly to give them an outing!

The photo doesn't do them justice really, they are a lovely ice blue with royal blue, pink and ice blue reflective strips, Saucony Peregrine, I love them!

Jacs, how are you getting on with these? I have a broad foot, not wide, just broad and need plenty of toe wiggle room. Fancy the Peregrine but just wanted some first hand feed back on them. Is it the version 7?

Hi MW.

I would say don't go for these! No wriggle room at all for the toes. I ran 3k, got dead feet so took them back. Left the mud on them too! I was not a happy bunny.

I am thinking of going for a mans shoe, as they come in D fit as standard. It all depends on size though as few make a mans shoe in a size 6. Also need to check the heel fit as some men's are wide here too.

My normal (and only) running shoes are men's due to the width and they fit like a glove. Do that heel lock thing with the laces and that helps secure the heel nice and tightly

I am a diabetic and have had excessive pain on the balls of my feet. Have tried various “gel” insert and "air" sneakers with no good results. Orthofeet's sneakers are great! Would like to recommend this footwear to anybody with foot problems. These Shoes are so much more than covering your feet. Primarily therapeutic shoes that are designed to alleviate heel, foot, knee and back pain.
