Second parkrun :-)

Have been wanting to do another but work got in the way. There weren't as many people there as last time - around 450 instead of 550! This time it was much trickier underfoot - wet, with mud and slippery leaves, so I had to go carefully, especially over slippery wooden bridges. I also didn't have time to warm up as much as I'd have liked and on the first 1k it felt as though I was going to be really slow. Shows that a few weeks make a difference - my time was just under 37 minutes whereas the first time it was just under 40 minutes, on very good ground. Both quite slow but an improvement of just over 3 minutes can't be bad :-)

  • Well done I completed second one today and felt dreadful but also improved my time . Our parkrun is much smaller about 80-100!! I was. Nervous but it's such a nice atmosphere πŸ€πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»

  • Yes - although ours is big it's still a great atmosphere. I felt much better after the first km or so.

  • Magic! You smashed those gremlins! I did a smaller Parkrun, also muddy but with my brilliant trail shoe's didn't slip at all..😊

  • I was very glad of the treads on my shoes, too :-)
