The weather man lied! He said it wouldn't be as frosty yesterday morning in the east. By the time I noticed I was in my gear so I went out anyway and managed not to slip on anything. That's run 2 of week 9 ticked off, 1 more to go before I get my shiny badge

Sparkly pavements
Excellent stuff loisamelia , you're almost there!
I think you done well to carry on with your run (and not come a cropper!) considering it was frosty where you are. This is another reason I always run in the afternoon...it's not just because I'm a lazy sod and can't get out of bed early in the morning!
I'm too shattered by the end of the day to go out. I spend the day in my cold shop and then riding home in the cold (why is it always a headwind at hometime?!!) If I didn't go out early I wouldn't go at all lol!
I'm interested in variety of reasons for why people run at different times. Lot to be said for waiting till later with current climate. But I think am creature of habit part of me also thinks especially if weather dry and sun shining I think "get out there while decent weather lasts" . Sometimes just no option last week one day drizzled all day and just had to bite the bullet and run.
Also like loismelia is to get out before procrastination sets in ! or just don't feel so good at end of day.
Well done your nearly there especially getting through C25K at this time of year. Glad I graduated in the summer This weather can be dodgy even when forecast isn't too bad .Early in morning at 6am run to work had to be wary of frosty bits hiding under leaves.
don't forget to let us all know how you'll be celebrating ! I know I may probably boring everyone with this but I only celebrated with a Magnum (Ice Cream) looking forward to reading something more exiting !!
Well, I'd love to say I'll be knocking back an actual magnum but I'll probably celebrate in much the same way as you lol! I'm planning to go out in the morning for the final run and I've just plotted a 5k route so who knows I might even do the double!
I did have a glass or two of champagne, only because virtual bubbles were being suggested at the time of my graduation 🎓 😉 😀 🍾🍾
I do have some (flat-ish) prosecco in the fridge
That's the way to do it ! I'm doing a parkrun Saturday Dec 17th. Work Saturdays so couldn't get Xmas Eve off. Will have to find a novel way to celebrate finishing that!
I'm so exited about the parkrun I probably won't sleep ! so may celebrate with a good night's kip !
No wonder my friends despair at me at he mention of running !
Good luck with the Parkrun. I'm too scared to go for one of those. I've walked through the park they use in the winter on my way to work and they are just to pro for me. Plus I work every Saturday except in the summer sometimes and then my husband has dibs on that so he can go out on club rides. I digress......sorry! I'll look out for your post-PR post (if that makes sense!)
Well done you. One more to go and then party time! 👏🏻👏🏻🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻🏃🏼♀️🏃🏻🍾🍾🎓🎓
Hold on this thread has been hijacked by talking about the "Demon Drink" . Wish I hadn't started it ! Enough excitement for me "Time for Bed" said Zebedee !
Seriously not going to bed yet but need to get off computer , wind down with some reading, and up early tomorrow.
Do you remember Zebedee and the Magic Roundabout ? Will have to talk about it another time. If anyone can finds a link and post it be great. I've not worked out how to link videos .
Goodnight All !!
Hidden I dressed as Zebedee for a Halloween party once and won the best costume prize. No credit to me though. I was about eight and in the Brownies. My artistic dad made the costume, complete with cardboard spring round my legs and beautifully painted mask. True story but of no relevance to the thread!
Really Liked that !
My husband went one better in his teens, AnneDroid , and had a garden hose firmly tied round his legs. Made movement somewhat difficult so he had to 'boing' everywhere! Other fancy dress costumes have included a sunflower and for our 40th birthdays, he went as the Angel of the North, complete with 8ft wing span!!! I made that costume. I have also made a pair of mittens for me and him (Sing Along Sound of Music!), a kangaroo suit for my younger son and a penguin suit for the older, and a frog outfit for the older as well
Well done, it was so cold out there wasn't it?!!!
Well done you! I noticed the sparkly pavements the other day too, they were very pretty (although deceptively slippery too)! Enjoy your graduation run, that badge is waiting for you!
