I'm new here, have just completed week 1, having run along Worthing sea front which has a long promenade and ideal as no hills. Was slower on w1r3 as ached like mad, especially in my ankles for some reason?

Well done Sandra ☺ Worthing seafront sounds ideal. Go very slowly, a slow jog is all that's needed. it's all about finishing the session

Have fun 😊

Well done for getting started and completing week 1. Your legs are bound to rebel a bit at first. Keep it nice and slow and remember to get into a routine of stretching after each run.

Just run slower still and all will be well :) We all felt like we were about to fall apart those first few weeks - read the earlier posts of Graduates :)

You have done the toughest week of all though - that first one where eberything is so new, all those other weeks loom ahead and if you are like the vast majority of us it seems an impossible quest anyway.

BUT - it is eminently doable for you, I promise. Just trust the programme core values - the rest days especially - take it easy and forget the "5" and "9" Very very few graduate 'on time and with distance " :)

Best wishes. :)

Your first week ticked off and you're on your way to becoming a runner. How exciting is that? Well done to you.

Stretch after every run and try circling your ankles in both directions while sitting. Also stand on one leg on a cushion. It helps strengthen the ankles.
