Men have it easy, don't they?
Mind you, a bra can be pretty handy for storing ipods, keys, even reading glasses... 
To clarify, I don't have the world's narrowest neck -I put two pictures together.
ouch that looks sore, bloody bras, mine leaves deep 'track lines' but that looks like bruising. There must be a better way, I wonder what really top sports women use?
It's not sore, thankfully. But I do feel I need to purchase something better than I've got so far.
I think Shock absorber is supposed to be the best
You can use a fine smear of vaseline to stop chafing
A lot of the top female athletes I have seen in the Olympics etc all seem to be super skinny and flat chested 
I don't know about super skinny, they've got muscles if not body fat but certainly on the TV (and recently in real life watching a women's cycle race) I have wondered how much breast tissue there is or whether it is just seriously heavy duty restraint.
Still, many of these women are fully functional as mammals as well as athletes - there's a lovely account from Dame Sarah Storey.
While many "sports" do develop slender women,
they are usually VERY Muscular !!
(Including around their breasts !!)
Also, many female athletes have "Chest Supports",
that really "Press-In" their breasts.
Both of these, give the appearance of being "flat Chested" !!
Ouch that looks sore! I've hurt my shoulder taking mine off tonight. Gone to bed with a load of voltarol on it.
I'd let them roam free but I don't want to end up with two black eyes...
Helmet with a face guard? Seriously though, running puts major strain on our chests. I remember watching a video that was describing the newtons worth of force due to the bounce.
I feel your pain Anne . I had this a while back . It started when I was doing longer runs and the weather was really hot . It hurts like a b"@@& in the shower after n'all !
I use Vaseline as well but I read a post by aliboo70 and she recommended Lancane Anti Chafing gel so that might be worth a try .

Whenever I've had chafing I've showered afterwards using Dead Sea soap. It doesn't sting,helps skin heal and it seems to help the chafing re-occurring. Boots sell it.
Men are more prone to get joggers nipple if that's any consolation!!

Being a Medic for Marathons,
this is one of the most Painful AND Embarrassing
conditions for many men.
One of the "Least Embarrassing" treatments,
involves THE PERSON placing
a 2.5" (6cm) gauze pad, covered in "Soothing" Cream,
Directly on their chest.
Yes, the pad will fall off,
BUT NOT BEFORE completely coating the area.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets shoulder hickies.
I think men just moan less... (or feel entitled to go out and spend the money to fix the problem) They do also have stuff that swings....

That looks really sore. If you are getting chafing on your shoulder straps it might be because they are taking too much of the load. The answer is a smaller back size, so tight you will swear you can't breathe when you first put it on. But if the back strap is doing the bulk of the support, your shoulders will benefit. Unfortunately if worn that tight it won't store anything bigger than a tissue!
Suggest you definitely need anti-chaffing gel or something like that (and a trip to a specialist bra shop)

Not a Question of "Male"/"Female" !
Some men have BIGGER Breasts than most Females.
(Especially with "Couch Potatoes" !!)
The Bras suggested are a good start.
Larger/Padded straps, are also suggested.
Might even consider a T-Shirt under your bra/bra straps.
