I think I`m doing something wrong . . . W6R1

Hi everyone. I did W6R1 last night and found it ok - am I doing something wrong as I've seen loads of posts that say its a right mare. I am slow though - only did about two and a half miles (which I think is about 4k) for the whole run/walk/warm up/cool down so am thinking I`m going at a snail's pace. Someone might find me squished on the road!

Saying that, I am loving C25k and am completely addicted - can't wait for the next run, and the next and the next. I am completely boring the socks off my OH (who is a MAMIL) gabbling on about my 'runs'.

Should I be doing something differently?

I'm only a run ahead of you but I'd say you're doing it absolutely right - and that you should keep doing it.

I'd also say that I'm addicted and can't wait for the next run as well! My OH is deeply into hot yoga and isn't much interested in my morning running. I get 'How did it go?' and 'That's good, isn't it?' but that's about all. Hurray for this forum!!

No - slow is best and that's probably why you are taking week 6 in your stride.

Don't look for problems - rejoice that it's going really well!

You certainly are doing something wrong! - making me green with jealousy LOL :)

It sounds to me more like you have always had the inner potential to be a fine Runner but only discovering it now :) Enjoy it and it is nice to read of said enjoyment :)

Run long and prosper :)

No you're doing great indiscoot.😊

I think some runners having just done a full 20 min run, feel that doing a run with walk breaks again is a step backwards and it unsettles them..

I felt like it was a bonus..another chance to build up ready for the final run in week 6. Enjoy the walk breaks, they are there to help you.

Sounds like you are doing just fine.😊

Keep going, it doesnt matter how slow you are, you are still a runner...

No, your not doing anything wrong, your doing just fine by the sound of it. Sometimes week 6 gets people but not always so don't worry. Happy running. Not long to grauation now!

Just finished my w6r1 and it was 3.5k so I'm even slower. I blame it on my weight and recovery period. 😆 So what you are doing is definitely fine, superb even.

I felt exactly the same on my W6R2 - everyone was struggling and I felt fine! Funnily enough, I struggled with the next one though! We all have a bad run at some point. If you're going slow, feeling good, loving the programme, then you're doing everything right! Stick at it. If the bad run comes then you can push through it and know that a good run usually follows. Don't fill your head with worry about a bad run which might never come though! :)
