week 9 run 1 - I'm back

My week 8 run 3 was horrible I hated it, it was very windy and I had to have a couple of stops, the first time this had happened to me.

I should have started week 9 last week but I'm working seven days a week, 7.30 to 7, for about six weeks straight. Last Tuesday morning I couldn't get out of bed early to run and then Tuesday night I was so tired I made the decision to have a week off.

This morning I was awake early and ummed and aared shall I go for a run? Gave myself a kick up the backside told myself to get my ass in gear and do it!!

I went back to the old route, there's a half marathon on today and the roads are cordoned off, and RAN for 30 minutes no stopping!! I was really chuffed to find I'd run 2.69 miles which converts to 4.3km. I'm nearly there at the magical 5k.

It wasn't hard work today, I quite enjoyed it. I didn't seem to be huffing and puffing like last time. Hubby hugged me when we got home and said he can't believe how I've come on in nine weeks to be able to run 30 minutes non stop and still have something left in the tank. That was like I'd won the gold medal!!!!!

Slow and steady gets results!!

  • Excellent b275, your muscles didn't forget all them runs in just a few days eh. Well done to you. 🌟🌟🌟

  • They do say if you have a bad run, a good one usually follows. Well done on your run - not far to the magical 5k (or to the even more magical Graduate Badge) :) And top marks to hubby for the after run hug!

  • He is really good at encouraging me at the end, he never says a word while I'm running

  • Well done, feels good when you crack that 30 minutes x
