Really, really enjoyed my run today...a mixture of grunge, rock, industrial metal and metal...nice and fast and spurred me to go on! I must admit, I knew I had put The Pixies as the last song to run to and I was so relieved when the first chord of 'Debaser' struck lol! Going to stick to 35 mins for now but a couple more runs think I will add 2 more songs to make it to 45 mins...etc
What do you have on your running playlists?? xxx

Glad you enjoyed your run - it's lovely when it all comes together. I'm just gobsmacked that I've got to two weeks post graduation and I've still not got any playlists! That's got to change. Mind you I've been taking my ipod on shuffle and that usually pretty good. Lots of overproduced power rock (Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen) and reggae and Argentinian Tango - which is surprisingly good to run to!! Never heard The Pixies although my mate loves them.
I'm with pollyp1 on power rock! Also, I love running to "Roll out of this hole" (Jools Holland and Ruby Turner). Great lyrics: eg "just move those feet, get out of that chair....you only got one life, start living tonight" etc etc. Excellent motivation for running and life in general! It helps that it's around 150bpm: songs at that speed are what my current playlist consists of, in an effort to stay in time and turn my slow shuffle forwards into something more resembling running.....
After next week when I graduate again it will be heavy, heavy and more heavy - it just helps me with my running. Although I do have some randoms like Marlon Roudette when the beat drops out, Jake Bugg Slumville Sunrise, but on the whole Metallica, AC/DC, Rammstein, Muse.. That sort of thing. I am not a complete grease monkey and like The Carpenters and Simon & Garfunkel but not to run to
