Life without Laura

Life without Laura

First post-graduate run this morning. My reward for getting out the house early was I found a tenner in the street 😄 The gym annoyed me a lot today. 1) No machine for "ladies items" in changing rooms meaning I had to pop out to Boots and then back again grr 2) Silly man on row of treadmills in front of me who kept allowing himself to slide off the back of his treadmill while it was still moving and then jump back on it. No doubt this is a known fitness technique for posers? Anyway regardless of all the irritations I did my first post-grad run, listening to my own music with no encouragement from Laura. Managed 33 mins, didn't go less than 5.4km/hr, did over 20 mins at 5.6, didn't feel completely f*cked after. All good. Gorgeous day, on my way to Eastbourne to drink bubbly with an old Cairo pal. This train is freezing!

  • That's great going - well done. Now, the drinking bubbly? Hmmm :-).

  • Well done Cairokitten! :) Hopefully the tenner made up for the other irritations...

Sounds like a great run, and enjoy the rest of your day!

  • Enjoy the bubbly 😄

  • Good work. Looks like a great reward to me!

  • Well done! I remember when I was commuting that the air conditioning in the trains was full blast and then you almost keel over when you step out into the heat!

  • Well done on post grad run. My calves are still not quite back to normal so leaving it another day. Not sure whether to take Laura with me or not?

  • I was a bit worried about leaving her I have to admit! But I have spent so long on the Week 9 podcast I just desperately needed a change. If you feel you want to keep her for a while I don't think there's anything wrong with that. Hope your legs feel better today, have a good run 😊 That graduate badge looks great!
