Just call me Goldilocks...

Last week I did 3 runs which were all in 21C. One of them was freezing, one of them was boiling, and one of them was (yes, you've guessed it!) just right!

What's going on there then? Any meteorologists here lol?

Twenty one degrees is twenty one degrees and that of course is air temperature.......not your temperature. It is your perception that has changed because your body is reacting differently on each occasion. Increased humidity will prevent your sweat from evaporating so easily and you will feel hotter. Increased air movement will help the evaporation from your skin and you will feel cooler. In each instance your body temperature may vary slightly as a consequence of these other variabilities.

This can of course differ if you have eaten too much porridge.......or not enough.......or.........

Maybe I ran too fast on the second one cos the bears were after me for eating their breakfast...

I'm keeping a record of how I feel at different temperatures, and have found there is no real pattern. For some reason it is far hotter at the same temp down in the valley than up at town level - can you explain that one too IannodaTruffe ?

Sometimes I think humans are quite badly designed, a couple of degrees difference can make a huge difference to how you feel.

Oh, and we haven't factored in shade or full sun...

I think humidity and air movement probably explain the altitude difference quite readily.

I might have not explained that very well, I think everybody knows where I run! The valley is about 40 - 50 mts below town level. That doesn't sound enough to me to explain the massive differences.

If the wolf was chasing you then his breath down your neck would make you feel hotter....... simples 😉

Yuck indeed. That sounds scary. Have you reported it?

No, I think he just misread the situation. I was looking at some cats and laughing as they were funny, and because I was wearing sunglasses he thought I was looking at him and giving him the eye...that's what they do here, go to the loo with a stranger for a quickie....personally I can't think of many worse places, and of course my husband was just outside sipping his beer....

That probably adds to the thrill.....

Yes, probably! It would have to be very quick wouldn't it?

Haha - can't imagine a run at 21C where I would ever be freezing!

Might be something to do with wind chill ( says she, pretending to know what she is talking about...)

Ok, freezing is an exaggeration but very chilly...it's just weird here!

Perhaps you got some pixie dust in your shoes on your last run. JaySeeSkinny had some in hers the other day and hit a PB. xx
