Well at work we have introduced the daily miLe. Where you can run, jog or walk. The deal is you have to move. I am interested in how long a mile should tale jogging on average so I can try and pick up some pace as I jog slower than I walk.

Without being trite, a mile should take as long as it takes you to jog a mile. There really isn't a definitive answer. However, you might want to look into performing some speed drills if you want to improve your running.

I would say though, be careful if you are doing the c25k in addition as a mile is probably a large percentage of your c25k runs, so be careful you aren't overloading yourself.

I graduated c25k doing just under 4k (including warm up and cool down walks) in 40 minutes. Taking off around 1k for the warm up/cool down walks leaves 3k. 1 mile is 1.6k so 3k is about 2 miles, so I ran a mile in around 15 minutes.

If you are including your c25k run as your mile then you are probably adding another 2 or 3 miles a week, which is a fair chunk :-).

Be careful - slow and steady :-).

Take the advice of the yatesco .. slow, steady and follow the programme, although, if this is a fun thing, maybe no issue...you know whether you are pushing yourself too far:)

So, jog as slow as you like... speed does tend to come as you progress through your running journey and there are things you can do to up your pace after Graduation.

Main thing is, lots to explore after you get that badge..:)

Tee hee.. when started, the children on their way to school were overtaking me... there are some funny posts on here about folk being overtaken by all sorts of people!!!

Not any more though! I am a grey and purple blur... ( not really) but, I overtake the school children!!! :)

Are you in a school, because we have heard about this initiative and are thinking of introducing it. How is it going? If not, sounds like a great workplace you have there!
