My name is Chris and I am interested in getting healthier and more fit.
Hello everyone: My name is Chris and I am... - Couch to 5K
Hello everyone
Hi Chris, welcome to the start of the new you have you started the Couch to 5K programme yet?
Look forward to reading about your progress.
Hi Chris good luck with the programme. Take it slow! It took me a few weeks to get week one done.
Welcome Chris - hopefully you will find this forum as helpful and encouraging and also challenging (in a positive way!) as the rest of us.
I found that posting regular updates every time you run gets great feedback. In addition, any questions about gadgets, apps, running form etc. are answered swiftly and helpfully.
Welcome, and enjoy your running :-).
Hi Chris, yes, c25k will help with all 3 of what mentioned, I can vouch for the mind, I know what anxiety depression is like, having had it..
It won't be easy, and you will no doubt get the gremlins in your head telling you to stop you can't do it! You have to push them aside, and go past them, do that and your a winner! and you will reap the benefits of your efforts.
Remember, those of us who have depression are actually very strong minded and battlers, and it happens because we care.
So, go and do it and keep us posted on your progress, we are with you buddy! Any niggles let us know, see how you go on the first week, then if your OK, make sure you have a decent pair of running shoes, they needn't cost the earth, and that your always well hydrated before your runs.. Good luck😊
Then you are in the correct place!
Welcome... time to get started!
Follow the programme steadily, keep posting, for help, advice, encouragement and sympathy! Even...the odd little gentle shove if needed. This a super forum and as our resident guru gadget yatesco says, all questions will be answered, readily and in a friendly way!
We are a wonderful bunch, totally addicted to running at all levels, some of us, a little loopy ( me), but all of us having a great time
Good luck with the programme, have you started yet??
Welcome CrisWalk, let's make a CrisRun out of you. Take it nice and easy and prepare to be amazed at what your body can do. I really couldn't see myself running for 30 min but the programme will get you there if you stick to it. This morning I ran for 2 hours and loved it but this time last year I wouldn't have had a hope in hell of doing that. Here you'll be doing intervals - brisk walking and slow running, gradually walking less till you can run through. Loads of people have done it and graduated and we've all had runs which felt hard or some kind of set-back, so come on the forum and chat about your journey. We'll be here to talk you through it - and we're a really nice bunch really we are.
Welcome Chris, this is certainly the place for good advice & motivation.
