Frustrated

I completed week 2 run 1 yesterday, really enjoyed it, more of a gentle plod than a run but an achievement none the less. About an hour later my knee started to hurt, a few hours later it was painful & last night meant I couldn't sleep on my side. So I've barley started & im already out of action :(

So sorry to hear that! I have never had any knee problems and have no idea what might be wrong or what you could do to make it better, but you're not supposed to feel that much pain so perhaps go see your GP or a physiotherapist?

Best speak to someone about that. But don't let it get you down. It may just take a little longer but you will get there.

Sorry to hear this. I had knee problems in the first few weeks (an old knee injury that made my knees hurt after each run) but never this badly. I found using pain relieving gel every night, regardless of whether I'd run that day or not, greatly helped. A few weeks in once my knees got used to running they stopped hurting. If it doesn't get any better soon perhaps visit a doctor?

Don't be disheartened, this is just a setback. It may take a little time but you will get back out there and continue the programme. Good luck!

It sounds a little more than the initial. " what is going on with my body" pains.

RICE treatment and if no better then get it checked out. Hopefully, just a reaction to your new regime. but worth sorting out sooner rather than later.:)

This is very common and not surprising as our bodies - if unused to exercise - will protest. Have a couple of days rest, and hopefully you will be good to go for Run 2.

The session is mostly walking, with just a tiny bit of jogging, so shouldn't be too onerous if you go nice and slowly. Slow is steady is the way to go

Thanks, it's painful just to walk round the house today so can't see my doing W2R2 for at least a few days. Have had to cancel plans as I know I just couldn't walk far enough without aggravating it further.
