W9R2 after 5 days off

I can't quite believe I've made it 9 weeks and I'm this close to graduation!

Knee felt fine the last couple of days and I wanted to go out yesterday but for various reasons it didn't happen until today. I could really feel those 5 days without running! My breathing was really heavy for the first time since weeks 1 & 2 and those gremlins were out in force telling me that I'd lost all my running ability in those 5 days and that I definitely couldn't do 30 minutes anymore. First 10 & last 5 were hard going but I got through it even after being absolutely soaked in a downpour (which was quite fun actually) and running into the wind along the seafront (which was not so fun). I used to see people running in weather and think they were crazy. Now it seems I'm one of them!

Felt so good to be back out there, particularly with a new toy - a gps running watch which my parents bought me as an impending graduation present when they heard I was running! Looking forward to being able to track all my runs and progress from now on. W9R2 done - not going to call it my penultimate run as I'm hoping there will be many more from here :) Next stop, graduation!!!

Great to hear that your knee's OK, Melly. And that you don't mind running in rain☔

Have a great graduation run, we look forward to hearing your future running plans :)

Great that your fitness hadn't really left you it was just gremlins. I think it takes full 10 mins to settle into a run Just think when we would never have thought runs could last as long as 10 minutes!
