I have just completed week 3 run 1! I feel very proud of myself as I finished but my overall distance run is going down! I guess I must be running more slowly but I am finishing each run so I guess it will take some time to get to 5K!

Don't worry about distances/pace for now. It's very very early days, and slowing a bit as you increase the distance is both normal and sensible! Remember, some of the extra distance will also have been in the extra walk intervals which you didn't have this week, too...
I found week 3 to be short distances but it is just because the overall work time is shorter, but you are running for a bigger percentage of the workout. Keep going and you will soon see the distances increase!
Please don't worry about speed - running for the required time is what it's about, and going slow is the way to achieve that. Sounds like you're doing great!
