Hi everyone,
So my Mrs did her W5R3 this morning, full of apprehension about running solidly for 20 minutes. I told her everyone feels like this and she can do it. I remember well how nervous I was before starting out for this run.
Half an hour later she is back home with an enormous grin on her face and of course she did it.
Even the dog has found her pace and seems to be running consistently now, rather than too fast/too slow, let's have a sniff!
So then it's my turn to run. It's the first run since I graduated on Friday.
I told myself I need to take it easy as yesterday was that busy, we ended up walking 11.5k's around the local reservoir and I didn't get my rowing done until 8.30 last night and I could feel my thighs aching before I set out.
It was cool ish this morning, my ideal temp I think (as I am a sweater), so it's refreshing when it's cool.
I felt OK for the first two k's then my body settled into a nice rhythm and I realised I was really enjoying my run, my thighs didn't hurt, my breathing was good, I felt like I had energy to spare so when it came to the last k I put a bit of a spurt on.
So two new pb's for me, fastest k at 6,08 (and that was the last k) and fastest 5k time of
31,56 which was an average pace of 6,22 per k.
So we both had a great run and couldn't stop smiling, talking about running and how we love it.
I think we earned our fry up at Witherspoons today π
Happy running
Bob
