New year update πŸ˜€

I still get a lot from reading everyone's posts on here - great forum! Thought I'd better give you an update πŸ˜€

Found a real life Laura to run with at at the running club, we are similar pace and it's nice to have someone to huff and puff with you!

Still going to parkrun every week, and also volunteered a few times now. Made one of my resolutions this year to earn a milestone t- shirt - should be achievable by the end of the year as I started parkrun in September.

Been entering some virtual races too, to keep me motivated, and now looking at some 'real life' ones so I have something to aim for (more for taking part than being speedy though!) Beginning to increase my distance a bit from 5k, started running with the main group at running club last week and covered about 6k, so hopefully I can build up.

Hope you all have a happy and healthy 2016 πŸƒπŸƒπŸƒ

Well done Deborah! You're doing great at Tuesday nighters and got up that nasty hill to the Christmas lights when me and my pal had a couple of walk breaks! There's loads of races here on the IOW this year, and lots in the South in general!πŸ˜†

Thanks Ali, just seen the list Simon posted in LRTN, was thinking maybe the Brading 10k was one to aim for - don't imagine it'll be flat though! Have you done it? Any recommendations of IOW ones you've enjoyed? πŸƒ

Just the once last year! The first bit fairly flat and on quieter roads from smallbrook to pondarosa then turn off to Brading along up and downy lane, and along main rd past tescos, that's a hill but a gradual one, then down past the garage and over humpy bridge! It's challenging and the roads are open so bit trafficy on that main rd, but lots of people there and good atmosphere. Medal bit disappointing though!!πŸ˜•

Dash and splash 5k in July was a good one along the beach, and the RAW run in May at Wootton 5 miler. πŸ˜†

Some on virtualrunneruk.com πŸ˜€ Did a few of the Christmasy ones, and just completed the New Year Challange, excitedly waiting for my medal to arrive!

Entered the Poppy one in November, as missed getting into this last year as sold out...might enter some more. Some of the money goes to charity, and it's nice to be able to fit it in when it suits πŸƒ At least it's a healthy addiction!
