When I had a bit of hip pain, I added the "hip hike" from the page below to my post run stretches. Haven't had any hip pain since.
I got bursitis in the hips after I had completed the podcasts. I think I got too enthusiastic! A physiotherapist gave me strengthening excercises including sideways leg lifts and clams. After a few weeks I started again at week one. It was so much easier the second time! That made me think that I should have taken the whole programme much more slowly to build up strength. The point is to get out there for 30 minutes three time a week. Don't worry if you repeat weeks and go very slowly. It should be light jogging, not running! I recently completed my first Parkrun in a time not a lot faster than brisk walking, but I was so chuffed.
