So I went to Sports Direct to get new shoes but I felt a bit overwhelmed and even though I'd done a bit of research I just didn't know what I was looking at! I gave up in SD and we went on to Brantano to get school shoes! I found these Nike's which were reduced down to £36 and then when I got them to the till they were £26. I think they are going to give me quite a bit of support (I had a trot around the shop in them). I think they are downshifter 6's!
I will be doing run 1 week 5 tomorrow so will be able to get an idea of how they are going to fare! The ones I've got now are Nikes but they are nearly falling apart so I thought it's time to take the plunge!
Hope everyone survived the rain over the weekend.

I got my nikes from SD having resisted the heavy sales pitch for karrimors from the guy who worked there . Pleased I did when I read that SD have alot of money given to them by karrimor so that pitch wasn't entirely objective!
Sports Direct own the Karrimor brand, along with a few others they sell - sportsdirectplc.com/our-bra.... Karrimor used to be good quality but a bit cheap and cheerful now that SD own them.
My daughter had a similar experience in SD - she told the guy that she wanted a pair of Asics for a normal/neutral runner for running in the park and on the roads - he told her he had a lovely pair of Karrimor that would suit her needs and thought that there biggest selling point was that they came in pink - the pink bit might work with me but not with my daughter! She was disgusted!
After so much internet trawling and visiting x amount of shops, I had a live chat with an Adidas rep at 1.30am! couldn't believe it they have "real" people still working at that time in the morning and settled with a pair of Adidas Supernova Glide's.
Best advise I have been given for a while, along with buy a shoe bigger than your normal size.
Good luck for tomorrow, mine is tomorrow as well, will let you know how I get on.
