So, after speaking to friends and family over the last few months I have definitely decided to get fitter.
Today was day 1 of C25K - can't say I enjoyed it but afterwards I feel a great sense of achievement. Would never have thought that running for 1 min could seem like so long - but feel exhilarated afterwards. Just hope can keep it up.

Well done, you've made the biggest decision by getting out there and doing the C25K and like everyone on here you'll find it well worth the effort. It will be tough at times but you'll be able to do it just take it easy, follow Laura's advice and come back here for the odd virtual 'pat on the back' or 'pick me up'.
Welcome to our world, mixed emotions, fear plus excitement and a strange compulsion to run! It will change u for the good, Trust Laura, she knows a thing or two about turning us into proper runners!
Haha caz, yes it seems like a long time in week 1 but let me assure you when you look back from week 5, week 1 is now nothing. I live in a 3 story house and a few weeks back I was out of breath climbing the stairs, now I don't, that's progress. The plan works but it requires motivation, the forum provides that, good luck
Good on you for starting and good luck! I'm on week three and even though it is sometimes a struggle I feel so good after and have to keep telling myself is about 30 mins and I can sit down when I get home!
Congratulations on starting c25k. Remember we were all once where you are now. Just believe in yourself and believe in the programme. We are all proof that it changes lives. Good luck!
Well done on doing that first run! I'm on my last run of week 4 tomorrow and if I can do it, anyone can. You'll be stronger before you know it! Keep us posted!
However the run goes, you feel good afterwards and there is always that sense of achievement. The programme really does work, your muscles get stronger, you build up stamina and find your running gait, then you'll find an ease with it which doesn't seem likely in w1. I'm doing w8r3 tonight which is 28 mins running and it feels comfortable now but I remember w1 alright! You'll be doing the same in a couple of months, keep at it, have your rest days and you'll get there.
well done! ~ I have got the gear ... tried it on ... decided I didn't look too bad! ... as long as I run in the dark! ~ aim to start Monday after work.
Thanks everyone. Was a bit achy yesterday have to say. But with the wind and the rain today I almost decided to postpone day 2 but didn't - have to say I was well pleased with myself and it (sorta) justified the fry up I had later (note, that will be stopping, back to work Tuesday so that will take care of that side of things)
I can't wait to be able to run without feeling everything gurgling and moving around!!! Well done to all you guys for how far you've come!
