After several month's running without music, as explained in another post, I gave Laura and C25K+ Stamina another outing on thursday. It went well, felt good, and gave a 5km time 1 minute better than recent runs.
Soooo, I decided to check out the audiofuel site for my weekend run. I decided to download Polyrunner. This has 1 hour runs at several different constant cadences.
It was excellent. I really enjoyed it. My 10km time came in at 63 minutes, and my 5km time at 29 minutes. That's my best times for quite a while.
But, although quicker times are always nice to have, what was better was that the run felt very relaxed and easy. Looking back at the splits, I think it might be the fact that the speed was fairly constant all through the run. Even though in my naked runs I try to start off slowly, and build up, it seems that I start too quickly and slow down gradually during the run.
Looking back at my early runs with Laura, I see that the same is true. With music my speed is much more constant, and this seems to make the run feel easier.

Good times there Zev and as you say the best thing is you enjoyed it. My pace is usually all over the place but I agree with you that with the right music it's easier to keep it constant.
Good to know which Audiofuel sessions people actually get on with as there are quite a few to choose from. I think Juju said she used them to help with the long runs, First Hour and Second Hour ones
This the polyrunner bundle right? I'm still thinking of getting that one, are the sessions different music or just the same tracks with different tempos? I've emailed Audiofuel to ask but had no reply...
I've not listened to all of them but I believe that they are the same tracks with different tempos.
I find them very much in the same style as C25K+ stamina. I found the 1 hour at 160bpm worked really well for me. Hopefully when that becomes easy I can the move up to the next cadence.
I thoroughly recommend it. I found that it made my run feel much easier, yet I put in a faster time. Although the style of music is not what I would choose to listen to under any other circumstances, for running it seems to work splendidly, and is surprisingly unobtrusive. I just found it driving my arms and legs backwards and forwards with a regular rhythm. You really do lock into the rhythm
