I have sent a message to the BBC saying they should make a programme about C25K. Free programme, funded by the NHS, loads of people to follow or interview. Would give more publicity and encourage more people to try it and get the nation fitter. What about Michael Moseley? I haven't received an answer from them so thought it might be good if more people contacted the BBC. What do you think???
C25K Television Programme: I have sent a message... - Couch to 5K
C25K Television Programme
I think it's a wonderful idea, but I doubt the NHS will be able to fund it with how tight things are for them could maybe try and get a sport brand to help fund it? I dunno, love the idea though
Good idea- surely this is the type of programme the bbc funding should be supporting? Could it be a series across a range of programmes- for example, have some characters in soap operas take up C25K; a children's programme; news shorts in the regions; a series on easy ways to improve fitness- promoting the NHS initiatives (could include a programme about ParkRun as well.
great idea
Your ideas are really good. Are you going to contact the Beeb?
What a good idea! It should save the NHS money in the long term (apart from muscle and tendon niggles!)
It would be great if we could get some recognition for the program, I really hope one day we can. When I became admin I sent of loads of emails trying to get people involved and spread the word. I only ever got one answer and that was from Mo Farah's secretary to say he trained abroad but wishes us well.
Great idea. Did you email the science unit? You might get more joy from them than a general email. Really great idea though
Anyone who wants to back up my suggestion should email them by just following the links on the BBC website, perhaps directing it to the Science department as has been suggested. Just off for W2R2 as we speak!
There was a series on BBC Wales just recently about getting a group of women ready to run the Cardiff half marathon bbc.co.uk/programmes/b06fngch
It was ok but missed an opportunity and just covered it in a typical "cliff hanger" reality show type way.
Anyone know how to contact Michael Mosely direct - I agree that this seems like his sort of thing...
Totally agree. With all the tripe that's on our TV screens, that would make far better (and more inspiring) watching!!!!!!
