I was traveling and didn´t run for two weeks. Luckily I got back last night for a 25 min run and went well. I have started a 10k training program which picks up from the C25K. Don´t know about everyone else, but these structured programs really help. Wish me luck!

Ooh good for you. Have you got an event in mind? It doesn't matter, 10K is a great distance to aim for. Have fun and good luck.
Thanks! I have an event in mind but lack the courage to sign up for it just now. So far I have been running mostly on my treadmill so need to slowly make the transition to outdoors. It is usually fine but running on the pavement is a killer for some reason. Any ideas?
I know what that's like as I did most of the programme on the treadmill. The secret to making the transition is to run very very slowly outside. I found it much harder to pace myself outside and it took time. And don't expect to run the same length of time either. Start off with maybe a 20 minute very slow run and then build up gradually.
Pavements are harder on your joints and they have to get used to that from the springiness of the treadmill. But the good news is outside running is so much nicer and not so boring! Good luck.
thanks. Great advice. I will try that this weekend!
They do, and if they have some inspirational tunes, then it makes the job easier (see Sami Murphy Bridge to 10 k podcasts) I think I posted up the play list somewhere on here. Lots of music and it's free, plus you get Sami whispering sweet nothings (not really, she says hardly anything, tee hee)
