My lovely new trainers hurt, so they will be returned later today. They were so comfy in the shop but after a 5k Nordic Walk my toes are numb and the ball of my right foot is not happy. I will find the perfect trainer for me...
New Shoes :-(: My lovely new trainers hurt, so... - Couch to 5K
New Shoes :-(
Did you get them with a gait analysis? If not it may be worth doing one before buying the next pair. Are these walking or running shoes? A few years ago I did a walking leader training course, and the advice was to walk in walking shoes (that included Nordic Walking) and run in running shoes - their reason was that the motion is different and so is the cushioning and support of the shoe.
Having said that, I have spent half of my life in non descript trainers... and hiking boots
I had a full analysis and they are for running. I wore them today Norduc Walking just to see how they were. Do you think I should hold off exchanging till I have run in them? I have blisters on my toes where they have rubbed.
Maybe try a short run - (when the blisters are gone) and try to tie them in a different way - personally I find that if I tighten the top and middle part too much I get numb feet. The shop should have given you a size bigger than your regular one, if not they may be too small (which could explain the rubbing of the toes).
They are very nice though!!!
Hmmm that is what I am thinking (the size bigger). I will pop down with them and have a chat. It's The Marathon Shop and they offer a 30 day exchange. I will keep you posted.
A perfect colour for winter running Helein! Shame you have to take them back though.
Disappointing. I bought some trail running shoes and went out to find some mud. So disappointed, my toes went numb. However, I completely re-laced them loosening the front part and they are super comfy now. Just might be worth thinking about before returning them. Hope u get it sorted out! Julie
As Pigivi says running shoes are not designed for walking in. They may well work but obviously in your case they don't.
