Noo Shoos

[Dunder2004]

They are New Balance 590's and they are super-lightweight as well as being very yellow.

I want to use them as my racing shoe, starting with my HM in 18 days time but will give them a good test tomorrow and them for my long, race-pace run on Sunday.

Don't tell anyone, mfam but these are actually girl's shoes!

The ones I wanted (same model) were a slightly less garish yellow but they didn't have a size 9. The sales assistant advised that they had these in stock without telling me. After a quick interweb search last night, I discovered that they are W590's (Women's minimalist).

Cool, I can borrow them! (Yup, I'm the lady who buys the size nines...). Isn't it funny how the BIG girls' shoes are more garish than the boys' ones? My first pair were positively evil - vicious pink and fluorescent yellow. They were the only pair on the women's shelf that would fit me. I've now learned my lesson, bitten the bullet and gone to the men's section instead. Lots of funny looks but a truckload more choice.

Lovely new shoes! Them's beauties!

Just a thought. A racing flat is ok for speed work, or a 5k race, but I'd be reluctant to wear them for a half marathon. That's a long old slog and you might appreciate some cushioning

They have a surprising amount of cushioning for a minimalist shoe but yes, I will try them out on my final 19K run on Sunday and see how things go.
