The chances of spotting each other in that crowd must have been a million to one. I spotted the WaterAid portaloo on a trolley first which made me think that Dawn might be somewhere in the vicinity. It was a fluke to start off with that we even chose to start in the same carriageway - I almost lined up for the other one. Then the crowds just went back. My start pen was ahead of Dawn's but there was still nearly a mile of runners in front of me. It was pure fluke.
