hey there folks..... I did my last run on my x trainer again as it was raining and I don't have any gear to run in all weathers. Also my partner who normally goes with me for my run around my local park is unwell. Does it count if I continue to do the C25K programme on a treadmill at home???
erm....???: hey there folks..... I did my last... - Couch to 5K
erm....???
Yes of course, you can continue on the Treadmill.
Personally I would say that a CrossTrainer does not emulate running action very well, so try and use the treadmill.
Stand by for many posts advocating running outside (me included). You don't startle a deer, or get to smell what your neighbours are cooking, or see the early morning mist hanging in the trees on a treadmill.
If you're running, it still counts. For me, the outdoor bug has bitten. Hard. I'm even contemplating running outdoors during the winter (when it's not icy). We're talking about temperatures below -18 degrees Celcius. However, I can completely understand the benefits of a convenient treadmill. Do whatever works for you. Just keep going. 😃
well done for your running i'm disabled now but when i went running i have a t-shirt shorts and trainers and i use to run in all weather what special gear do you want to run in do you have to have special gear there was none 40 years ago just what i had hope this helps take care kind regards bigalan
Better running on the treadmill than not running at all!
Thanks Alan, your thoughts on what to wear regardless of the weather was an interesting note. I suppose we have forgotten that in years gone by these specialised clothing items didn't exist.
Also, thanks to all the other replies. Treadmill is being delivered tomorrow so I can run regardless of weather, time or what I wear. I really do like how I feel when I run, thanks guys.
Yes I know someone who did it all on a treadmill and it worked for her!
Running on a treadmill certainly doesn't provide the full range of benefits and joys, but for C25K purposes it counts.
I am another who doesn't get the need for special clothing for wet weather, not unless you are running far longer than in C25K. Keeping hands and neck and head warm initially whilst it is cold yes (buffs, buffs and more buffs) I did once borrow a jacket but it was worse than useless.
I just run in my normal gear when its raining I do like the feeling of it
But bravo for doing it and yes of course it counts
