My daughter and I did the last run of week 1 this morning. I did not enjoy it as much this time - probably because we chose a different park. This park felt a bit unwelcoming and I kept feeling nervous about our safety. Anyway.. we did it! Followed by an hours play in the playground and walk to the pond, where we saw a heron and a pochard! It's great to combine exercise and nature! Then we went into the local sports centre and my daughter begged me to book a badminton court. An hour later, after much laughing and not much hitting we finished and are now exhausted! We are going to have a nice relaxing bath later and then ..... cleaning/tidying her room!!!!!!
Week 2 next week and I am trying not to over think it and just do it!
Wow! You're starting with a lot more vooom in you than I had when I struggled through Week 1. Where do you get the energy to play badminton after a run? Hope you enjoy your next runs more, and reach that strange day where you realise you're actually looking forward to your run, where you're doing it for the pleasure of it. That day will come, believe me.
Believe me when I say there wasn't much vooom going on!!! But I was still moving and stretching (and mostly bending down to collect the fallen shuttlecock!) I loved badminton when I was in my teens and competed at school - however you wouldn't know that to look at me now!!!
I hope I'll get to your point when you are no longer worrying about making it to the end!
You never posted a truer sentence...'Every run is a new adventure'. I never actually believed I would start this at all. It's thanks to my daughter that I have got this far!
Well done on completing week 1. 😊I have just done my third run of week 1 too.(decided to go earlier to stop me faffing about) I tried a different route today too and ended up being faced with an steep hill on the run bit! I walked that bit and ran when I was at the top. There are hills everywhere in my village and very difficult to avoid seems I live at the bottom of them all! On to week 2 and good luck ! 😀
I don't envy you on running with those hills around! I am not sure I would have carried on so extremely well done!
We will be starting week 2 on monday but before then we will be going swimming on saturday followed by horse riding (just my daughter for that - I think I would squash a horse flat!)
It will be nice to do this running lark with her. However, we made the mistake of looking ahead to the other runs up to week 9 and she shouted out 'we're gonna die!!!!'. I can't wait now!!!!!!!!!!
Well, I swerved doing her room! I decided to do hoovering up and downstairs instead as it was that bad! I'll leave it till a rainy day - which I'm sure will come along soon!
