Do these excuses sound familiar???? I am really struggling to get out at the moment and apart from work and family my last run a week ago was very deflating as my legs felt like lead and barely did a 9/3 programme. Anyway moan over and I always feel better when I read all the graduations and great posts here. I am running just one year on Wednesday April 1st and I did think it might be a bit easier now and I would be in a running habit? Hope to get out tomorrow, I could have run Friday morning but wimped out.......never good for the confidence. Happy running.

You've just got to get out there Nelly, you know you want to! I had leaden legs the other week, but it all comes right in the end. Good luck tomorrow, let us all know- we will be waiting! x :-)

Yes you re right no-excuse.....I have just got into a bad habit of talking myself out of it. The guilt and beating sessions after are never nice!! Thanks for that.

out tomorrow, take it easy, no expectations and allow yourself a treat afterwards :)

So simple when you put it like it that! Treat mmmm yes ...

Rain...it's only water ! Wind....it's only fast air ! Jobs...do you work to live or live to work ?

Kids...do you want to set them a good example ? Husband....Does he want a fittie for a wife or what ? Up and out....you know you want to really...

Yes sounds so silly doesn't it! Husband is not very encouraging it's a bug bare! But kiddies love mummy running, need to focus on that!

You have to see it as "me" time. Everyone is entitled to that.

Get up,and out there tomorrow - you know you'll feel better once you've done it.

Yes totally forgot that one of my reasons for starting was to get 1 hour to myself three times a week!! Thanks for reminding me! Tomorrow I am back at it.....

Nelly, why don't you put your running shoes on and go out for "just a walk". I bet you'll be running in no time.

Good idea princess I think I need to put less pressure on myself. Thanks so much

I once read about a good way to save money !! You put 10% of your pay packet away somewhere - and say "THIS IS MINE!!!! EVERYBODY ELSE CAN HAVE THE REMAINING 90 % BUT THIS 10% IS MINE MINE!!!!

Perhaps you could allocate part of your 24 hour day that way?? :)

Good plan Bazza, I need to be a bit selfish and just do it. In my running gear now so that is progress! Thanks for the tip.

I'm with you!

However I've taken a new approach to this and I'm not letting anything be an excuse not to get out! For example its the kids Easter holidays so my routine will be out of the window and il be running with kids. However my 7 year old can't keep up so we are borrowing Grandads mobility scooter for her to ride on, everyone is happy. She thinks it's great fun and I can still get out, no such thing as excuse in my mind they are just barriers that can (sometimes) be lifted!

Try to find a solution for what's In your way you'll feel even better for completing a run then too x

Oh you sound more motivated than me Leanne but I can feel the black cloud lifting and then watch out family and work I WILL run! Mine are only 3 (twins) so they can't keep up and tend to go in different directions!

Ok wow you have your hands full and I expect u do lots of running around anyway!

I hope you have a supporting hubby who can hold the thought whilst you take some time for yourself?! X

Go for it Nelly. You deserve a bit of 'me time' In your busy life. I love early morning running because you can clear your head, blow away the cobwebs and enjoy yourself, and all before anyone else has got out of bed. Happy running Sweetie x
