Update to my post about calories

I posted a few days ago wondering why I burnt more calories on a shorter run than a longer one (according to Runkeeper) - I got on to their support and the answer is - RK messed up! Yes, it was an aberration, he has resynched my run and now it shows fewer calories!

Oh right. Oh well never mind, you know now. OK you might not have burned the calories you would have liked but it's all relative and will pan out. Good to get it sorted though or you don't have any confidence in what the gadget is telling you. Garmin has such issues too. Hmmff!

I was thinking about you yesterday. How's your foot???????

Hi MW, I was looking too at my run from yesterday which RK chopped into two bits. The shorter portion used more calories than the longer one... I don't really take much notice of calories, I was just interested in the difference!

My foot seems to be OK at the moment with the Mizunos, thanks for asking, I ran 11K last week and had a blister at the end on the other foot, but apart from that I seem to have cracked it...I still have the lump although it isn't really bothering me much, two doctors have seen it and don't know what it is... I'll be back in France in a couple of weeks I might see the doc there, they're much better than ours..

How are you doing?

Calories are not much of an issue for me, as Waitrose STILL have McVities choc homewheat on b.o.g.o.f.!!! Hey ho.

Thankfully I really don't like stuff like that...

Oooo I do I do I do ...... I love healthy stuff too, but those biccies just make me happy inside :)

I feel very nostalgic for the days when I craved chocolate and sweets, I just kind of grew out of them...

Really? Can this happen? I live in hope... :-)

I always used to be a 'savoury' girl, but as I get older chocolate seems to be the answer to a lot of questions! I have it under control though. Mostly.

i understand that...I kind of grew out of 'snacking foods' too..

Oooh do they? I don't buy biccies though because I am a saint. My husband bought some 'ob knobs and I turned them into a low fat fruity cheesecake kinda pudding yesterday. Choc digestives would make a lovely base, as do gingernuts. Mmmmm

If the doctors don't know what it is you think they'd refer you to someone that does. I don't know (shakes head) I hope you get it sorted in France. Good that it's not bothering you though. Long may that continue

The Mizuno Waves are on sale at SportsD at the moment!

I'm fine thanks Curly. Got my neighbour's dog in tow at the minute and he's wearing me out. I was asleep on the settee at 10.00 pm last night which is unheard of for me. I couldnt' go to bed as he had to go out again. Off out with him now for his long walk of the day. He's been out twice already mind you. Still, all good exercise for me and more calories being burned. I know from my tiredness that I'm getting enough exercise. I have to fit in a 5k run today too. Happy days!

Ooooooooooooo CheeseCake :) :) :)

I love cheesecake, I dont normally eat sweet stuff, but cheesecake mmmmmmmm :)

My cousin's wife makes lovely cheesecake, she gave me one to take home with me back to france. Unfortunately I amnaged to munch it all during the journey, so arrived home with an empty tupperware box !

When I drank regularly I used to crave cheeeeese afterwards :) Now I only drink in company, and then only in moderation just to be sociable. I can quite happily spend an evening with folk and drink no alcohol at all now.

As for biscuits and chocolate, I have very good self control in the supermarket, but very poor self control at home, thus I just dont buy them. I know that if I buy a packet of buiscuits then I'll just eat the whole lot in one go, so best to leave them on the shelf.

I love crisps, but rarely buy them, if I do buy them then I buy the smallest packet I can find. I know that it's not good value, but if I buy a big packet then I'll just scoff the lot :(

That's a really interesting comment of yours - about the alcohol and the sugar cravings. I've stopped the alcohol too (apart from my birthday and a couple of nights away) and I've developed this manic desire for chocolate. Crunchie bars in particular, which is rather annoying as you can't buy them here in france.

If there's chocloate in the house I can almost hear it calling my name.

When I drank (wine or vodka & tonic) I would have much rather snacked on a spoon of marmite!

I'm beginning to think we must be hotwired to be naughty.

Off to read your link now .....

I don't drink any more. I don't buy biscuits any more either. I don't buy lots of things that I used to. You don't miss them though. You just get used to not having them around. I made the cheesecake with locally produced low fat cottage cheese, sugar-free jelly and a tin of drained blackcurrants. It was quite healthy in the scheme of things. Divvied up into four portions. I do like a pud so I just make my own
