trainers
There isn't really a best trainer to buy, as which trainer is best for you. I would pop along to a running shop and explain where your running(grass, road, trails, treadmill) and they should be able to help you. Most people here have a gait anyalisis done also to tell you how much and what type of support you will need.
There are so many variables: how you place your feet (are you and overpronator?) when running, how wide your feet are (I have narrow feet so anything apart from Asics or adidas are like boats on me), whether you run predominantly on road or on trails... Go to a running shop and get a gait analysis done. Runners Needs and Sweat Shop are 2 chains which do them, though there are plenty of others too. It's well worth doing. It can save some very expensive mistakes. Take the socks you would normally run in with you too. They can make a difference to fit.
The best trainers are those that fits you and your running style. As Vix and Adam says, proper running shops are great places to get an analysis done.
