Declaring Intent...

I AM going running today - as soon as I've had my cup of tea. And I will come back and follow-up this post. There - I've said it, so now I've got to. Seriously, I've been ill all over Christmas and New Year, with a very heavy cold and cough, followed up by a fall while walking the dog and pulling knee and ankle muscles quite badly. So it's over three weeks since my last run, and the indigestion and poor sleep have started to come back - and today it's raining and miserable out there, but I've run in weather like this before and I know in my head it will do me good. I've just got to get out of the door. Wish me luck...

Declaring intent is great. You've now had 17 minutes to get that tea down the hatch. Are you out of the door yet? I know you are. Looking forward to the follow up saying how lovely it was :)

Good luck ;) I've been ill over Christmas too and had 3 weeks off so you're not alone

Let us know how you get on xx

Leave the tea...you'll need a wee half way round !

Yup - I did it! And I chased the rain away - the sun is shining now! I'd be lying if I said it was fun, though, but I did what I set out to do, which was Wk 6 R2 - 2 x 10mins with 3 mins walk in between. It nearly killed me. I felt as if I'd forgotten how to breathe after the first five minutes, and coughed all through the walk in the middle, but after that it got a bit better and I managed to finish, and at least my knee and ankle didn't give up on me. I think I'll do the same run again on Thursday, before going on to 25 mins non-stop. But hey - I'm out there again, and from here it's all up again. Thanks for the support - I knew you would. And good luck Cheshiregal when you start again. We KNOW it makes sense. :)

Well done you! Doing what you set out to do is what shows grit and determination, and you clearly have both. And never mind that it felt like it almost killed you - in fact it made you healthier, and I'm willing to bet good money that you feel more alive already :) Congratulations!

Good lass! You nailed it, got out there and kicked its ass!!! Way to go.

Rest up now - apart from walking the pully dog obviously - and get ready for the next run. Line it up and knock it down. Like dominos!

I bet you feel pretty pleased with yourself now don't you. So you should!
