Don't ask how it happened but my garmin needed up in the wash today. Well I know it's waterproof but a washing machine survival might be asking too much. I managed to get it turned on and it's been a few hours and all looks ok. The true test will be tomorrow on my run so fingers crossed.
I would not recommend but my garmin is lovely and clean.

Oh no! Hopefully it keeps up with you on your run tomorrow
Oh me too! I don't know. I serves me right always plug your garmin in after a run. If it works. I. Take back what I saidabout modern gadgets not being made of tougher stuff.
Fingers and toes crossed - would a Garmin come under 'delicates' or 'synthetics'? Plus I'd love to see the map it produces after that 'trip' Hope it works out.
Well before today I would have said delicates but now I think it's more synthetics. I hope it works tomorrow too I will keep everyone posted. I thought I was a goner but it just turned it self off for a nice bath.
Bad news Vix. I'm with ZoomZoom on this. Both daughters have dropped their phones down the toilet at least once, and both phones survived after being put in a bag a rice in the airing cupboard for a few days. Good luck m'dear, fingers crossed x
Thanks the apartment is pretty warm and when I left it out side for a few minutes it managed to correct itself so fingers crossed it's ok. I will keep in mind as I am sure it's only a matter of time before something else is exposed to water.
