Running... isn't that what school holidays with the kids are for?? :)

Morning all, Aussie here, reporting in after another run today (a paltry 7.5k nonetheless - hehe). With the kids off for half term and me taking some time off work, it's been great to be able to get out in the mornings, set out breakfast for the little Vegemites and head out for a run. When I get back Mrs Aussie and the Vegemites will be getting up and we can then spend the rest of the day together...

The mornings are lighter now (sorry evening runners) and the weather has been kind this week so it was "no excuses". After 10 miles on Sunday, I wanted to do a recovery run on Tuesday... I got a bit excited by the fact I was loving my run (and my new RockMyRun playlist) so much that it turned into an 11km recovery run... oops... It was awesome - all the way to Hampton Court Palace and back along the Thames... beautiful!

Equally, this morning I didn't have a heap of time and thought I'd knock out a 5k... well, feeling super awesome now and not wanting to stop at 5k, I carried on to 7.5k in just over 45 minutes which I was very pleased with... I am feeling super fit again post-injury and although my calves still give me a bit of grief, there are thankfully no nasty pains in joints and bones (just muscles!)... :)

Happy Halloween to all you crazy runners... It's my eldest's birthday on Monday and I'm at the rugby on Saturday so a Sunday morning long run may be put to one side due to excess beer consumption... but if I can get out early enough on Monday I reckon I've got another long run in (11 miles?) before I go back to work on Tuesday!

Happy running!

Fantastic Aussie, Glad to see you're still getting the miles in. 11miles - wow!

Yeah - it's the furthest I've run to date and I really, really want to get back there... 17.7km is just crazy distance I know... :) I've got that 13.1 miles of fun running in February so I'm almost there in plenty of time... :)

Well Mister, you've pulled it out of the bag again ,haven't you ? A massive well done to you and I am so glad that you are enjoying your runs again injury - free and back to being super fit again.

Thanks PP... it's lining up to be a good one... out with the kiddos today, rugby tomorrow, hangover likely on Sunday then a long run and my baby turns 7 on Monday.... :)

From there it's downhill as back to work but I'm going to find a running route in Birmingham city center to keep me on track when I'm there during the week.... I reckon if I'm home on Friday then I can do a Wed/Fri/Sun schedule so I just need to get a run in on a Wednesday morning while I'm out of town and that should be more than do-able (even if it's 30 minutes on a treadmill)...

The HMs are closing in fast (Feb 22 and Mar 22)... no stopping now! :)

So lovely to hear about an involved and supportive dad. My husband is abroad a lot but, like you, when he's home and his work schedule allows he gets stuck in with family life. With my time away looking after my parents for the last few weeks, he and his parents have been a brilliant backstop and keeping my boy on the straight and narrow (though obviously nobody nags about homework like moi!).

Enjoy what's left of half term and don't go too mad with the beer - you know you'll regret it the day after! x
