Afternoon all... Mainly aimed at our C25K graduates today...
Thought this was an appropriate image and motto for all of C25K graduates... There's been a quite a bit of discussion lately on events we're signing up for, things we are running in, things we'd like to run one day and things we think you'd be mad to run (yes, that means the ultras)...
It's also fair to say that a lot of people may not have run in a "race" or an event before and might not think they are for them... I still believe that Parkruns are a great introduction to running in a group and once you've got the first event under your belt and realised that the only real "race" is the one against yourself that you'll love them too...
If you don't start, you'll never know the feeling of crossing that finish line... running, walking or crawling!
I was like you re "Parkrun" but was persuaded to do my first when visiting friends. I thought I could embarrass myself away from home but I got hooked. I am always well down the field but well worth the sense of achievement and a different experience from running on your own. Go for it!
Triffic, you are a proper advocate for running - I heartily concur about Parkruns and I've only done one so far but I think I might be getting the bug for joining in!
So true Aussie but I think it also applies for people starting C25K. A friend at work is now on Week 2 and his wife has also just started C25K which is just awesome
I think we can all say our lives changed for the better the day we started the c25k If I'm honest, I didn't realise just how beneficial running would be and for that, I thank c25k
