Moved to week 8, thanks for all your help and encouragement guys. I must confess that i did stop twice for about 30 seconds. I know that i am not supposed to stop but decided to give myself a break, it is not the end of the world is it??! X
So.... I met Julie!: Moved to week 8, thanks for... - Couch to 5K
So.... I met Julie!
No, it's not!
What's a minute in the grand scheme of things? Well done xx
No of course it isn't the end of the world. Most of us have at least one session where we don't complete it BUT you'll need to do your three Week 8 sessions without stopping before moving on to Week 9 and to graduating. (I'm assuming this wasn't a quick tie of the shoelaces or picking up canine offerings but stopping because you felt you 'had to')
Otherwise you won't believe that you can run 30 minutes continuously or regularly and you will not have developed strategies to help you keep running when it gets tough (smaller steps?) Once you've graduated you can do anything you like (and there are lots of merits to interval training) but NHS C25K is about learning to run continuously, any distance, any pace for 30 minutes.
You met Julie and had to stop; yes, she has that effect on us all, I think! I agree with Google Me (that rhymes) above. It's not the end of the world at all, but you'll feel more ready for the next step if you're able to run through - it's more psychological than anything. Don't worry too much about it; these things do happen and you'll be fine the next time out. Good luck for the next run!
Certainly not! 30s is not long enough for your body to recover, just long enough to give yourself a talking to! You got to the end, well done. One week to graduation!
Bah! 60 seconds of walking... in 28 minutes.... not even worth worrying about...
As M_Y and GoogleMe say though don't let it get you next time - slow and steady and speed up at the end so you don't tire too early... You can never have enough of Julie... truly...
Well done! Almost there!
