My friend and I done our run this morning thankfully, when it was beautiful blue skies. It's rained heavily non stop for the last 6 hours. Thunder and lightning. Yikes. Will it ever stop. My poor daft wee chickens look like bedraggled rats. Silly chickens go inside. The dog won't even go out, that coming from a spaniel, pretty much says it all. The drains are all overflowing, the gutters are leaking the gardens flooded. The great british summer returns. Last year was obviously just a fluke.
So It's an evening for the Onsie and the coal fire lit. And a cheeky glass of red of course and old episodes of dr who on the telly box
So this mornings run was week 2 run 1 for my friend, but the podcast wouldn't play so we used the timer on her phone instead. Not Ideal, but no biggie. Run went great. I'm so very proud of her, she is the same height as me, leg length too but she's so much faster than I was when I first started, and we even talk the whole way through. I'm mightily impressed, I do try to encourage her to keep a slightly steadier pace as sometimes she will randomly change speeds. But she's doing so great.
Our distance covered including walks was 3.7km (I think ) and our pace was 9min km.
We also stopped by the local pool to enquire about prices and when the gym was mentioned, she seemed quite keen to do that also. So once I've got a couple of bills sorted we are going to join.
Oh and my fitness phobic other half has also announced he wants us to start playing badminton.
I'm lost for words.
Swimming, gym, running, horse riding, obstacle races, badminton....... Love it. This is how I want my life to be....
Happy running folks. Fingers crossed for some sunshine tomorrow.
