Oh that's right, blame me! :-P

You know perfectly well what I'm going to say! Do it! Plenty of training time! It's on the same day as my Brighton HM; we can help one another with our respective training. :-)

Its a YES from me Aussie ! You are more than capable of doing it, its good to have a goal and something to aim for , plus you have got a virtual training partner with Miles Yonder, so definitely go for it -who dares wins and all that :-)

Plus another shiny piece of medalry - how can you not ? :-) xxx

It's a good route that, Aus and I echo what Poppy said. You're more than capable of it. There's loads of time to train and it will give you the motivation to get out in winter!

Congratulations on signing-up for the autumn 10K! You really have got the bug! :D

Another vote for yes :) I've signed up for a 5k run 1 week after my first HM, we must be mad! :D (my 5k is more a life for race style event so if I'm still cattle trucked I can walk it :) doing it with a few colleagues for Epilepsy research UK in support of one of them)

Well it's the next logical step up and there seems to be ample time for training etc. go for it, Aussie. You know you want to ;)

It is done... I can't quite believe it, but I've now signed up to run 13.1 miles in 24 weeks time... training begins on Wednesday... they reckon it takes 12 weeks for a beginner (me) to train to finish it running and I have 24 weeks... bring it on!

Scared... but hey - it's only just over double what I can run now! Hahaha..

Thanks everyone (I think!)... :)

Fantastic! I really am so, so pleased for you. Well done: you'll have a blast! It's in February, so you have plenty of time to gradually get up to distance. The training plans on the site look good!

I know it's hard to take in at first, but it's done: you're running a HM! :-) I'm halfway up the country from you, but will be right here training with you to help support you, as will everyone else here. :-)

So then, Marathon next October? :D :D :D :-P

It really is so bloody addictive this, isn't it?!

You have ages to prepare Aussie. You can get your plan organised pdq and get your head down. By having plenty of time it does give you breathing space to be a bit more flexible as we still have a life outside running, annoying though it is! LOL

I'm thinking of a HM in October. Thinking being the operative word.

Yep - the deed is done... This bloke is running a Half Marathon in 24 weeks time... hard to believe it but it's happening! No need to worry about motivation for winter training now...

GO ON - YOU KNOW THAT YOU WANT TO DO IT!!!

And anyway -- it says that it is " flat and visually interesting" - and I personally know that there are a lot of nice pubs all around that area.

Well done, you have plenty of time to prepare yourself and if any of us can do it you can. Such a great backdrop for a race.....I thought during London 2012 it was a great venue for some of the road cycling.......be inspired by Sir Bradley!

Well done you! Taking the first step is always a big deal. 24 weeks and you will be really, really doing! Chin up and happy training! :)
